Ayurvedic Therapies

All Ayurvedic treatments are offered including abhyangam, udwarthanam, pizhichil, njavarakizhi, dhara, basthi, vamanam, swedanam, nasyam, virechanam, kizhi, upanaham, kativasthi, sirovasthi, urovasthi, yonoprashalanam thalam.

On arrival at the resort a team of eminent Ayurvedic physicians from Keraleeya Ayurveda Samajam, an 85 year old Ayurveda Institute, conduct a consultation and after an indepth panel discussion the appropriate Ayurvedic program will be prescribed. The entire treatment is supervised by senior doctors and therapies are performed by qualified and experienced masseurs. All Ayurvedic herbs used are prepared in the authentic, traditional way and hence unequivocal quality and results are guaranteed. Wholesome vegetarian food is provided during the treatment period as part of the healing regime.

Conditions treated
Ayurveda is effective for all conditions as well as for general rejuvenation or purification. One of the nearby appeals to the visitor is the “Elephant Yard or Anathavalam”; an exciting seen where 50 or more elephants are housed and looked after by the temple management.

Yoga Instruction
Nilayoram’s yoga master has over ten years experience under the Sivananda lineage and is highly regarded in Kerala for his teaching expertise. Daily yoga classes can be arranged upon request and may include Yoga asanas, pranayama, mudras, bandhas, meditation and yoga philosophy. Each 90 minute session costs $US10.
